An original musical comedy about identity, motherhood, and the algorithm
Millennials Are Killing Musicals follows Brenda, a single millennial mom who wants to be better at “adulting,” especially when compared to the seemingly perfect Jake’s Mom at her daughter’s school. When Brenda’s younger influencer sister Katrina suddenly shows up eight months pregnant and completely unprepared for motherhood, the women are forced to confront the filters they have placed over their lives and the algorithm that controls them all.
Part musical sitcom, part generational reckoning, Millennials Are Killing Musicals uses comedy, pop culture, and a theatricalized digital world to ask what it means to build a real life when the algorithm is constantly telling you who to be.
Millennials have been blamed for killing everything from beer to napkins. But Millennials Are Killing Musicals reframes this as a theatrical invitation: what if the generation accused of killing everything is actually trying to survive systems it didn't create? And what does killing really mean, anyway?
